I had this happen on my 88 Dakota and I replaced the entire pump, only to find out it was o-rings. Next would be to check your hoses, clean them! Get some 409 or Purple Muscle or something. First step is CLEAN IT! There is a cheap o-ring set you can pick up at napa and replace your self by pulling the pump and replacing them. OldMan, any number of things could be leaking. Never ever under any circumstances use something to seal leaks like that, you'll seal more than just the leak.
